my friend, wendy zier (i finally got her to join but she has yet to post) is finally getting audio tx installed and her home studio built. but despite expert help from donovan and a little extra help from bob souer, we are stuck.
we can't verify the isdn line(s) are even the right type for voice transmission. anyone she calls at at&t either doesn't know what she's talking about, or can't verify her account even exists...yet she's been paying for the lines since last fall.
does anyone know someone either in our group or at at&t wendy can call to get some straight answers? she's about ready to chuck everything out the window...literally.
thank you in advance. _________________ rowell gormon

Rowell,
Have her call AT&T's Global ISDN office in Pittsburgh at 800-306-9085. If she can reach James McSweeny at x. 4058 that would be perfect, but everyone with whom I spoke there knew what they were talking about. _________________ Be well,

When I procured AT&T's ISDN it was amazing to me. I had to meander through a myriad of departments to finally get to where I needed to go.
You may wish to check into AT&T's ISDN Help desk

Not an expert on Audio TX but let's see if we can figure this out.
1. Instal Audio TX, install card and dongle.
2. Check and double check connections to NT1 box
Now it should be working. If not what error message are you getting if any?
If it's "No Connection," call AT&T and verify your service I believe it should be two (2) BRI (data lines), not voice.
This link my be helpful to understand what you may need or what is offered Phone numbers to call at the bottom:

Hope I didn't muddy the waters
Goooooooood luck! _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong.

many thanks for all and future help.
i think i may finally have wendy ready to become an active member on vo-bb.
your instant kindness has shown her this is not the bickering bunch of egos she's encountered on those mythical "other" places. _________________ rowell gormon

Jeff,
Nope. (OK. I'm kidding. But, there's no place like home.) _________________ Be well,

I am so excited to get so much great feedback from this group! Rowell says all the time what a fantastic VO community this is (I was soured by some other groups in the past)! I am definitely excited to be a part from now on!
Update:
ISDN still not working! My provider says the line test was fine (they tested up to my home, but not inside the home), but they are saying they are not regostering any data in thier office for my equipment (although they should since everything is plugged in.). The NT-1 is showing an "error" light as opposed to "ready". They did verify that I have BRI service and my switch type is SESS.
When I call out: The system just keeps trying and trying.
When another ISDN calls in: they get a busy signal......
Any suggestions on why Audio TX is not working?

Wendy,
I'm almost positive that would be 5ESS (as in the number five, followed by the 3 letters) rather than SESS. Oh, and welcome to the VO-BB. Like Rowell, it's a bit nutty at times, but that's part of the appeal. I'm sure you'll fit in fine. _________________ Be well,

I don't know about Audio TX specifically, so let me ask— do you have your SPIDs entered correctly? _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Update on my ISDN situation: Apparently while I was visiting with Courvo in Las Vegas my ISDN BRI was installed TO the house. although they tried to give me two pair of ISDN lines ( four 64 k lines or two BRI's).
This is being changed to only one BRI and I will have ISDN lines inside the house and fully installed by the end of the week.
Now to get the AudioTx dongle coming...
For those who are in the know, I am using an Adtran Ace NT1 into and Eicon Diva ISDN USB USB adapter.
SPID's and other details will be given to me on Friday.
Now what do I do? Market the heck out the ISDN codec connection. Life is grand.
Toodles

Frank,
Good for you. Wendy has the same NT1, so hopefully we'll be able to get her up and running soon, too. Donovan (Sweet Feet) Corneetz is going to provide some additional assistance shortly. I'll be playing the strange little gnome on the phone. Rowell has the part of Igor the magnificent. _________________ Be well,
