On Monday:
Agent 1 sent me an audition from SelectVO.
Agent 2 sent me the same audition.

Agent 1 claims only 3 submits are allowed, per the job posting, and replied back later that day saying the 3 had been reached.
Agent 2 has no such claim, and the deadline's on Wednesday, meaning I can submit through them.

What's going on here? Agent 1 claims "Only allowing 3 on this. (The VO times they are a-continuing-to-changin’)." Only happens with auditions found on SelectVO.com

I've never heard of 'SelectVO.com'
I'm a little weary of the '$350 per project!' verbiage.

In my experience, limiting the number of submissions is commonplace. I've seen plenty of auditions where they say "send me your top 3 men for this" or "send no more than 5 please" etc.

You might submit a great audition but the agent might be limited to [n] submissions and choose someone else they think fits the spec better.

I also know that casting agents will sometimes tell agents to submit person X along with their selects because the casting person wants to hear from that person regardless of the agent selections.

So this is not a SelectVO thing or what have you, it's a casting thing. We often have no idea if we were sent over and it would be way too difficult for agents to let every talent know whether he or she was or not.

uhhhh-zactly!

I would say you almost NEVER know if your file was sent along to the casting agent. Look at it from the casting agent's POV - If I'm going to 4 different agencies, do I want them to send me every single audition? Probably not.

Select VO is a site some union agents use for union jobs
