1000 postcards! Wow, that's an impressive number! Is this mailing done from a list that you have cobbled together over time, or were there many new targets in that lot?

I attended a marketing seminar yesterday and postcards were mentioned repeatedly as a highly effective marketing tool. I definitely intend on doing this very soon. A good design and consistency is key.

I think it should be mentioned: postcards ARE a great marketing tool, however sending postcards should be followed up with a targeted marketing campaign. A marketing campaign which is quantifiable and substantiated with results.

One impression (or ONE advertisement) will do little to get your name in front the right audience.

The object of marketing is to get your name or impression of your talent in the brains of new customers and clients. To make the proper impressions a VO Artist will need to create twelve to twenty-one impressions before a potential customer will know who you are; what you do, how to contact you, and REACT to his or her needs and desires.

How many contacts did you make today? How many impressions did you make today with potential clients and customers?

Toodles

Hi All:

This is a new concept for me as I have always sent cds. What specifics do you include and how "designed" are the postcards? Does anyone have an example they are willing to share as a prototype?

Thanks so much,
Nancy

wow! I just wanted to share information and reference on postage (and hopefully save someone a couple of pennies) - I didn't mean for it to become a discussion on postcards, their design, their role in marketing, etc. since that has been discussed before (Thanks for the link, Todd!)

Gotta love this place Wink

PEACE.

So my postcard mailing from last week got me TWO auditions from an agent I met way back in November. Who knew?

That's great, Tom. What was on the card that sparked their interest?

i obviously don't send out postcards enough. the main response i got last time, was "garsh, i thought you was dead." actually the cards have indeed prodded some long-time clients into remembering (and casting) me again.

Diane,

I did, but I thought I emailed you a thank you note. Maybe I only meant to and never actually did? Embarrassed
