				| Turns out they're not going to use the narration I did for the Awards. Word has it that the ep had originally requested the "regular" guy to do it, but that order never trickled down to production. So they hired me... produced it... and when the ep heard it he was expecting the "other guy."

Still get paid. But not on the show.
A paychecks a paycheck i guess. And I'm smart enought to know that there was absolutely nothing I could've done about it to make it any different.

 Next.

				| Hey, you never know... if the production guys liked you enough to select you in the first place, it will probably turn into more work in the future!
There are never any closed doors, simply opportunities to new beginnings!

A bummer, but probably a blessing in disguise. Good on ya Anthony!

 Cheers,

Suffice it to say Our Anthony sounded incredible.

...and I must disagree with the notion of "blessing in disguise". I think it just plain sucks that they won't have Anthony's parts on the show.

Otherwise, rocking the production like you did can only work in your favor, as Brian said.

 We know you rock.
 Next-- world donimation.

				| These things happen and have to be filed under "O" for Occupational Hazard. I always try to make a judgement call on how "likely" is "likely" based on where the person who expresses an interest in me can be placed on the food chain. A few weeks ago i agreed dates and times for a 6 part network TV series and when the phone rang offering me work that clashed in my diary with the TV series I took it. The series was transmitted two weeks ago and I still haven't heard from the Production Manager, I wonder if they still need me?
There is no spin one can put on your news, it's crap and I feel for you Anthony.

				| It's a good thing I didn't print those postcards... doh!
Thanks for the words - it does suck, but it truly is an "Occupational Hazard" (Banksey).

On the flip side, my daughter's sick today. We went to the doc last night, and she's just got a cold, but you know babies are like men when they're sick
and my wife won't be back until tonight from work. So i get to stay home today - no studio - no rehearsals - no auditions - no productions... just get to focus on what's really important

				| I recently, did an image package for a client. Really good stuff. But alas, the client rejected the work citing, in the end, it didn't fit in with his format.
I was paid; no refund was asked for. None offered. My ego was chapped, but to quote my wife, a freelance artist who has dealt with creative types all her life, "Ya got paid. What the hell do you care whether he makes use of the work or not? It belongs to him now. Move on."

				| Voice Over training... $800.00
 Expenses of recording equipment... $4500.00

Hearing your voice, over the media... priceless!

Even getting paid to do a job, can't compare to the satisfaction of hearing one's own accomplishment. It's the icing on the cake.

 Hang in there Anthony!

				| Hang in there, Anthony. I've been there and it does suck. At least you know you were 'the one' chosen to do the job and received compensation for it.
Think how high the suck factor would be though if you didn't get paid?

				| Maybe I've just been unlucky, but it seems to happen a lot in broadcasting. I've done two TV series (including a British dub of Iron Chef, a show you Americans might know well) only to have both of them pulled before broadcast - and that's after doing a full 26 show season for one of them. Still, it's money in the bank and invaluable experience - actually the most enjoyable gig I've ever had.
And today I had a client cancel a booked job I had this week because they decided to go with an English speaking Japanese VO instead. My agent was so p#$$*d she managed to get an 80% cancellation fee. Bless her.

But hey, you did the job, so it still goes on the resume right?

 Maiku.
