Dang it!!
I bought a Monster Power Conditioner super-duper dealio that is supposed to give me "clean power" but I am STILL GETTING audible power blips when anything clicks on in this house.
FRACK!!! What the heck?!
(must praise the unit though— for protecting everything plugged into it. A Couple of days ago there was a power failure and subsequent voltage surges when the power came back online and it tripped out the whole electrical bus. ) _________________ DBCooperVO.com

RF or EMI getting through perhaps? I only mention this because I have ferrite cores on the brain (don't ask). They might help out if it is an interference problem.
Ferrite Core Example
(just an example - you can buy them at Radio Shack too) _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Would you elaborate on how you use those ferrite cores Hart?
Are they intended for all different cables? XLR? Power?
Inquiring minds...well you know.

I'm still learning about them. My new TV came with 2 snap on versions they suggested putting on HDMI/DVI cables so I started reading up on them out of curiousity. Apparently you can use them on many types of cables (including power) to help reduce interference. Here's a wikipedia entry on them.
Here's a brief except from the howstuffworks.com website:
Their goal in life is to reduce EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio-frequency interference)....A ferrite bead is simply a hollow bead or cylinder made of ferrite, which is a semi-magnetic substance made from iron oxide (rust) alloyed with other metals. It slips over the cable when the cable is made, or it can be snapped around the cable in two pieces after the cable is made. The bead is encased in plastic -- if you cut the plastic, all that you would find inside is a black metal cylinder. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog
