If you happen to be going by the NC State Fair in Raleigh, check out the video playing in the NC Wildlife booth. If the section titled "Electro Fishing" is playing....that's me..or my voice.
Wasn't supposed to be. You see, one of our top videographers worked on the project and needed a place holder voice to mark his edits. The leader of the organization was then to replace the voice with his.
The videographer asked me if I would help him and somewhere between cities, we recorded the piece in the back seat of a Cadillac Sedan DeVille in a Mall parking lot...on a hand-held RE-20 straight into the audio channel of the camera.
Well, NC Wildlife loved it....as is. (But I am still waiting on the check!) _________________ Wild Willie Edwards

Willie,
If there's anyone I know who could pull off a VO under those circumstances, it's you. I'm not surprised they kept it. Good for you. _________________ Be well,

Ah, you are the Cadillac of voiceovers! No one takes a backseat to you....because you've been there!
Strangest place I ever recorded was my front yard. I did an on-camera commercial as a wacky, rude golfer (me??) and they had decided to do it MOS, but after looking at it and remembering the fun we had shooting on the golf course they decided to "add back" my comments. They didn't have time to do anything but run to my house with an audio recorder and from memory I reiterated my comments. To match the ambience of the course we went outside. It actually came together seamlessly. It's the first cut on my video reel on my website for the inquisitive.

A photog had me come by her house, plugged an RE-20 into her Betacam, and pointed to a closet ... the "booth".
Eventually we've gone on to do a lot of great work together, so from humble beginnings... |
