LOL.... I prompted myself to read it over again a number of times.

It was in a very casual phone greeting... with words like "stuff" and "a person with a heartbeat will be with you in a minute" so enunciating "promptly" was weird, but it's weird if you don't enunciate.
I hope I hit a happy medium.

Just curious: is there ever an unhappy medium? And if you hit him or her, wouldn't THAT make them unhappy?

Seems like the medium would know you were going to try and hit them. And since they already know that they would be unhappy on a particular day, they could just sleep through it all.

which reminds me of the time we were driving through Indianapolis and saw a sign at a hotel that said "Psychics convention here (date): call for details."

I wondered at the time (and still do): if you're psychic, would you really have to call for details?
