....helllllllping me give you a great deal on a microphone!

DB, is it breaking house rules to ask if anyone wants to buy my USB SNOWBALL Mic (made by Blue Microphones) before I list it on E-Bay?

'Bought in late '06...used less than 10 times. Comes with its own nifty stand and USB cable.

Any reasonable offer considered.

Go nuts, Your Hotness! We know you pretty well by now, I think.

Besides, if the deal goes bad, we know where to find you!

YOu know, I bought one of those babies a couple of years ago. It has found a home as my 'screamer' mic and I sometimes use it when on Skype. But, as a regular VO mic? Not so much.

I was checking one out last weekend and wondered if it was cuter than it sounded? I didn't get a chance to demo it though so I still have no idea.

Mandy,

I think it sounds too bright... it wasn't capturing some of the warmer notes in my voice that I hear through a couple of other mics we have.

But, as I mentioned, it's great for death yells and stuff like that (provided you have the gain control stuff installed) and it's okay for skyping and stuff like that. I got mine at a severe discount, so I'm not out a ton of money on it.

Thanks CC! Good to know. As I've not done death screams since, oh, about 9:30 this morning, and as it was not into a mic but rather at a 3 year old and as no one was paying me to do it, my best bet is to pass. Though another mic, especially one previously owned by Courvo has it's appeal. Maybe if it came with an autographed picture Wink .

CC-

I use a Snowball with my Macbook (my traveling set uHobo Happy...works well with my voice. I've used it for spots and narrations, never had any problems. Just thought I'd put my .02 in.

And I - on the other hand - sent my Snowball back because I didn't like it with my voice.

If you can try it out somewhere before you buy it, that's best of course.

We have a Winner!!!!

I'll let that person decide if he/she wants to reveal his/her identity.

Briefly, I'm unloading the SnowBall mostly 'cause I'm finding I'm not using it hardly at all. My Zoom H4 satisfies most all my on-the-road needs. No gripes with its performance.

I bought it.

Need something to travel with. Getting tired of schlepping my notebook, preamp, mic, and a ton of cables when travelling.

I intend to use it for auditioning.

Jeffrey, be sure and download gain firmware for it... not sure when Courvo got his, but sometime in the last year they started coming pre-loaded with it; for older models you download little thingie at bluemic.com

Silly Liz.
The technical term is "Whoozie-Whatsis". You'll find it on their website on the "Thing-a-ma-Bob" link.
