Hi Mac fans,
I have a 3 year old G5 (non-Intel) running OS 10.4.11 and I can't get it to "see" some audio inputs.
I use a Motu 828 for audio input through Firewire and my Audio Desk software from Motu had seen everything just fine for years. But I want to use Audacity for a couple of its features and while it shows the Motu in it's input options, I get no audio when I select it.
Separate but similar issue: I have a client who wants to use iChat's talk feature with me, so I ran out and got a Logitech USB headset that says it works with Macs, and I can hear the client, but they can't hear me. I've set my sound card and the iChat preferences to the USB headset, and the mic input shows up on the Mac's sound card VU meter, but can't be heard online.
Related strange issue, the mic from the USB headset DOES show up on Audacity when I select it for input. Sounds like heck for voice work, but it's there.
This may bore the heck out of our fellow viewers so if you think you can help you're welcome to email me directly and we can set up a chat time. Bless you in advance.
Many thanks,
