Hi, All,
Wanted to let you know that Dierdre has graciously allowed me to join your fun, so I'm reading your words and enjoying your humor & photos! I'm a long-time radio personality who has grown weary of the corporatizing of my fun, so am now working from a home studio...first pretty studio ever...doing voicework. I look forward to learning from you all...thanks in advance! |

Welcome Sandy! And congrats and making "the move." It's lonely, but this place helps... somewhat.
PEACE.

Yeah, we tend to be pretty good comrades when we're not actively bashing each other over the head with our least favorite microphones. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Welcome Sandy. There's nothing like working in a studio you designed (and decorated) yourself. My kids tellme that my studio/office looks like Barney and BabyBop threw up (it's purple and Tinkerbell green)....meh. I love my studio...and I ain't never worked at no radio station that was cool enough to have purple walls _________________ Moe Egan

Hi Sandy! Welcome. Have fun. Try not to throw food. Well, at least aim away from the mic. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Well...you wouldn't want us to use our FAVORITE ones would ya?
Welcome Sandy!
We love it here too!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone...and Lou, I'm so sad...thought that now that I'm working on my own equipment, those dumb studio rules could go right out the (sound-deadened) window! No food? Next you'll say that all drinks have to be outside the door on a ledge...
Liz, you said exactly what I thought about the mics...wouldn't want to whack anyone with the good one!! |

PHEW!! Good to hear that...thanks for the clarification! Because in our studios those old engineering rules don't apply. That is, unless you LIKE to work wearing a pocket-protector and crachberry all the time.
Moe, what a great description of your color scheme...your kids are creative, too, sounds like. I've got a couple of crazy-quilts my Gramma Weaver made...pinks & plaids, with some green thrown in for good measure. Kept the daybed covered in its green, peach and tan linens, because Bonnie (red Siberian Husky) looks sooooooo good lounging on those colors. Now, if she'd just quit tossing pillows around when I'm working...! |

Hey Sandy! 'Looking foward to learning from you.
Here's the Cliff Notes on the rules: No politics, no Mac vs. PC debates. Offer support, keep it clean, expect to enjoy.
Oh, and search the archives often... DB could really write a best-seller on the all the knowledge there.
