If you go back, see if he has a Rode NT1A you could try. |

That's interesting know now what the mics were. Surprising especially about the Heil. The tubby sound of that mic really did make me think it might have been a tube.
Ditto on the AKG. I have a 200. Sounds really thin on my voice. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

Mic 3 was my favorite. I was also damn surprised by the sound of the PR30, and not in a good way in this situation.
I'm hoping that the preamp you're using at home is the same as what you had these hooked up to.
Regardless, #3 by far. _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

I think there were some mic placement issues with the PR30 (too close?). I just tried EQing it and there's way too much proximity effect, and the Heils aren't big on that. Also, notice how when she says "shows us how" the level ducks down and it's way off axis? Plus there's a lot of mouth noise. More gain and more distance from the mic will open that mic up. Anyway, the Heils take EQ and processing really well, so it was a sinch to make it sound good. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
