Dave,
Once I got the right phone number and no longer had to wade through all the "let me transfer you to DSL....or the Let me transfer you to ISDN and then really transferred me to DSL again" people, I was much happier with Embarq.
Try this number first:
Enbarq ISDN Tech Support: 866-707-3847
Not sure if it will work for your region, but it is worth a shot. I always call this number first if I have any issues. Saves tons of time. _________________ Ben

OK, I'm now told by Embarq, that my ISDN has been connected to the "D-mark" at my home, or near my home.
Embarq doesn't have anyone locally that handles the rest of the install to the RJ-45 jack in my studio (hard to believe)....so I'm left to find an independent contractor to do this final leg of the journey?
Does this sound believable to anyone here?

No, not really.
Although I will say that "M-Barq & the D-Mark" was my favorite rap group in the '90s. _________________ Lou Zucaro

OK, Embarq came through. The phone box on the side of my house has been visited, and tagged with "ISDN" and my two phone line numbers.
But, Embarq will not bring the line into the house to my studio.
I've got an independent phone installer coming for next Monday to rig up my line to the studio and an RJ-45 jack.
Progress! I'm making progress!

Wow. What a cluster futch getting a phone line has been for you. With me, I already had three analog lines to the house brought in on two two-pair cables, so Qwest just used the unused pair for the digital lines. Easy, next-day service.
May your equipment work perfectly when it gets hooked up!

The outgoing long distance is in fact $1/min... but i can't remember the last time I dialed out (except to test w/ Nachtrab before my first "home" session after the move). Shewt, I'd pay $5/min just to know that I have someone available to me 24 hours/day for support and never haev to deal w/ Vz. Love those guys.
And Bruce might've just jinxed courvo
PEACE.

OK (he says dusting off his hands)....the guy came today, and just like Bruce said above, he extended a line from a nearby room and now I'm all hooked-up.
That's the physical (hardware) side. I haven't even had a chance to turn on my computer and begin the software configuration....but I must admit THIS IS PROGRESS!!!
Thanks for all your interest/support.
