I meant the second part of the clip. I want to hear it at a lower gain (something at the same level as your "A" sample).

Todd, did you re-record the spot at a lower gain, or just lower the final result?

That's what I am talking about. I'd want to hear this spot recorded at a similar level. It's going to be the best way to compare the two.

On the side, someone here with me preferred the second take because "it was louder" (that is the extent of their professional knowledge Wink ).

Frankly, the first clip is what I would have used... it was more conversational. That said, I can tell that the second would stand out more in the mix. It seemed much less friendly to me though.

just my $0.02.

/try it again at a lower gain and let's see what happens... while ribbons need more push, I usually record them at a slightly lower level and it seems to work for me... but I don't use them for my own VO.
