Hey everyone! I'm doing some research for myself and figured I'd pass this along for anyone who is or will be in the LA area.
I am planning to do a driving tour of the talent agencies in LA (as listed on the voice over resource guide) just so I know where
they are, how long it takes to get to them, etc. This is more for my own knowledge than anything else, but after doing all the
work of typing them in to google maps, I thought I'd share in case anyone wants to do the same. The cool thing is that many of
them are located in the same area. I'm planning to do the same thing for other resources listed on the VO resource guide
(recording studios, casting services, etc) and will post those as well when I get to them.

Below are two links to the google maps. Link 1 is the nearly complete map. Link 2 just shows where The Wallis Agency (TWA)
and William Morris are located (I couldn't add any more points to the original map so had to make a new one).

Map 1 (how do I hide this long url & just have some text as the link--I know how in html but can't get it to work here):

Very cool of you! Great info for those of us who are LA challenged.

Thank you Rachel!

Thanks Todd!

Hi Melissa! Are you coming out any time soon?

Forgot to mention, there's room for one more point on the map, so you can plot your apartment/hotel/other address in LA in relation to the agencies--just go to the bottom of the page and click "add destination."

I'll probably come out for about a week this summer, Rachel.

If it looks anything like Kafer's contribution, I'll need the sunglasses I just had to put on! ouch!

Melissa-- I will preface this by saying that I really do like LA a lot . . . however in my opinion it's one of the ugliest cities I've ever seen. Kind of like one giant strip mall. And yet there's something I love about it--go figure. You do have the mountains nearby, which is nice.

And you will DEFINITELY need your sunglasses Smile

It's not pretty but it's home. It's only one big strip mall because every 10 or 20 years a good earthquake comes along and destroys anything worth looking at.

It was a bright sunny day today! cool

Glad you're having fun.

Well it's either that or an out of control fire, flood, smog, or riot (I remember landing at LAX when the last ones started, almost as much fun as finding out that the unibomber was threatening to blow up a plane landing or taking off from LAX... as I'm mid-flight there)

Hey Mike! Hope I didn't offend you! I think LA has a definite charm despite any patches of neon signs and tacky storefronts--and plenty of people can't understand why I would want to live some place as noisy, filthy and crowded as New York, yet I absolutely love it. I think the great cities transcend their shortcomings Smile

Offend me? Impossible!
LA is, what it is, and it is the home of neon. Once you start poking around this city you'll find some real oases in the most unexpected places.

Well, it's "shake 'n' bake" today, small earthquake this AM, 102° in the Valley, and a fire on Mt. Baldy... Good times!

(At least during the rioting the damage is restricted to strip malls) Smile

Best of luck in your search. Laugh I just started mine today as well. What an exciting time!

I love LA. I've been out here two and a half years now. Smile I prefer the less "strip mall" areas, like Burbank. That's where I live currently and I love it. I personally had never lived in a big city before moving to LA. I love being able to go down into those more "city" areas and then come back up to the burbs of Burbank. Smile
