Forgive what may sound like a dumb question. Do you have an ISDN card installed in your PC?

Just wanted to wrap this episode up with some good news. My ISDN is finally working! It wasn't an Audio TX issue. It wasn't a computer or computer hardware related issue. It was an AT&T issue (don't look so surprised Wink ) Seems that someone back at the office had installed a POTS card instead of the proper ISDN card. Only took a month to figure it out.

Thanks for the input and encouragement. A special nod of thanks to Charlie Channel who spent a lot of time on the phone and online giving me every possible angle he could think of. Also Dave Immer at Digifon who assisted me in "ISDN speak" with my technician.

I can only hope to "pay it forward" to some other poor soul who may fall victim to telco.

Bill,

I'm thrilled to see this good news posted. And I'm so very sorry that I wasn't able to offer more assistance.

As I begin the saga of installing ISDN lines here... I found this set of posts to be enlightening.

My experience so far: more than 5 hours on the phone with Qwest (whose people believe ISDN stands for "I Still Don't Know"), pushing the phone prompt (more than one hour of searching through other phone prompts) that offered to help set up and ISDN BRI and hearing "Qwest DSL". There is more, but I will not belabor the point...

Is not life fun when a dying technology which is desired to operate properly is being sold and serviced by the inept and unkempt?

Aaaaaargh.

Life goes on.

Toodles

Great thread....as I am taking the leap into AudioTX ISDN also. So far, smooth sailing...knock on wood.

I spent a half-hour on the phone drilling down through Embarq's phone menu system, sales, residential, etc....then finally got forwarded to Leah Rosenthal. A wonderful gal who's been there for 30 years, and led me by the nose to what I needed. She knew all the lingo, waived my activation fee, and scheduled the installers for two weeks from now.

We'll see what THEY do to screw things up, but Rosenthal had it all in hand before I even had to ask. Stroke of luck.

BTW, in Vegas $44/mo subscriber fee. How does that compare to what you are paying?

Hey Dave....glad to hear that you have experienced smooth sailing so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the remaining experience will be just as smooth! I'm paying $48.50/month in the Chicago area. That's for residential service.

Be sure to let us know how everything goes after the service is turned on. It seems that a support group is needed to cope with the headaches, heartbreaks, and general anxiety that goes along with this procedure. Perhaps we've started such a group!
