Just wondering which websites you visit every day (or so) and why . . . besides the vo-bb of course!
I love finding out about new sites and learning about people's interests!
Here are mine:
http://www.nytimes.com/
A staple, of course! Er, especially the crossword archive
http://www.cartoonbrew.com/
A FANtastic and extremely well-written site for all things cartoon related, from up-to-the minute news on the newest big-name animated films to clips of terrible vintage animation to great posts on the history of animation.
http://www.epicurious.com/
This cooking website has a great search engine and a free archive of all the recipes that have appeared in Bon A étit and Gourmet magazines through the years. Perfect if you like to cook, or if you're just wondering what to do with all that leftover [cilantro, cod, calvados, whatever] before it expires.
http://www.youtube.com/iyt
I'm always wasting time looking up stupid videos. Recent searches: Leona Lewis' performances on X-factor, a video of some guy dancing around to "Queen of the Night," a web cartoon called "Planet Unicorn," the New Kids on the Block cartoon.
http://www.nataliedee.com/
Site that features a new weird/random but totally hilarious web comic every day.
http://www.designspongeonline.com/about
Awesome NY-based home & product design website.
http://tinyshowcase.com/
A site that sells a new & different limited-run art print each week from all sorts of independent artists. $250 of the proceeds go towards a charity of the artist's choosing.
and my guilty pleasures, http://www.ebay.com/ (do I really need another designer purse/knife sharpener/vintage my little pony?), http://www.perezhilton.com/ & http://www.dlisted.com/ (it might be cheap gossip, but at least it's better than spending money on US Weekly), http://www.neimanmarcus.com/ (I like to drool over shoes I can't afford), and http://gofugyourself.typepad.com/ (because who can resist cleverly-worded digs at celebrities' poor fashion choices?) . . .
What about you????????

I don't visit websites all the much. Instead, I have a ton of RSS feeds, which means the headlines are pushed to me in something like Google Reader, Firefox or IE7+.
For me the idea of surfing a bunch of websites and blogs is sooo 2004. I prefer the data come to me. _________________ Jeff

I get overwhelmed by that much text. I'm too much of a visual person--I start to go into overload if all I see are a bunch of headlines . . . plus a lot of the sites I visit are based on visual content anyway, so I'm going to have to go there one way or another. I just have them all up on my toolbar. I guess feeds [are]are[/are] good for keeping up with the news though . . .

Not just a bunch of headlines. Google Reader gives me all the pics and most of the article as well. But it's all on one convenient page. _________________ Jeff

Ahhh . . .maybe I'll have to give that a try. I was basing it on the New York Times feed, which is just too much for me! |

Ray,
I must admit you list does NOT match my list....not that there's anything wrong with that.
I check VO-BB of course. My bank. My blog. USA Today. Wall Street Journal - online edition. VoiceOerExtra, Voice-overs.com (TOF), FaceBook, my RSS feeds (like Jeffrey), Plaxo, LinkedIn, The Biblical Archeological Society (BAS), The Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD), GearSlutz, G-mail, AOL mail, TypePad, LasVegasNow.com, and then start all over again.
Whew! I had no idea!

I check all the voice over sites (VoiceOverXtra, Voice Over Times, etc), I also check out my favorite VO blogs. And, of course the VO-BB!
Outside of voice over sites- I check Drudgereport, BigStockPhoto (I love stock photography- and like seeing new pictures that are posted), MySpace (we have a ton of teenagers in our family- this is our only way to keep up with them).
Nancy Wolfson turned me on to this site- and now I'm addicted (I'm an avid gardener):
http://yougrowgirl.com/
I'm also a member of the NC Conservation Network- so I check that site regularly to see if there is a new way I can conserve or help clean up our beautiful state. http://www.ncconservationnetwork.org/ _________________ Threadjackers local 420

I've narrowed my focus to online things that address my business, otherwise I don't add the time to "do it all". I've given up on that. However, my computer is on 12-14 hours/day, and I am online a great deal of it. I try to resist the urge to be connected all the time...and it is a challenge. I prioritize. I try to get here if I can once a day, and then primarily my yahoo, v123, voices vox daily, various vo-forums and voice over blogs, facebook (which is a nice place), linked in , plaxo, the biz and researching various online venues- all related to my preferred industry. I already spend a lot of time online, but I can't when I am working, billing and administrating business. I try to not waste time, which can be super easy for me to do online, just because once I've spent that time, it's gone, I can't get it back. I also have have an offline reality too which requires my attending to meetings, networking events, fitness classes, seminars, a husband, home, family, gardening, grandchildren., and 2 rental properties. I go to bed pretty tired about 10:30! haha Then I am back on at 7A or so the next day. _________________ Bobbin Beam

Another Google Reader user here, reading too much useless fluff in addition to the news. This board is the only forum I visit daily. A few others I drop into only occasionally. _________________ Mary |
