At the end of the day, what do you do with your mic(s)?
Leave it on the mic stand

My 416 stays put ALL the time. I like to wake and see it's up already.

I consider the big foamy windscreens that came with my NT2 and 414 sleeping bags for them. I take them off to record and put them back on the rest of the time. It seems connecting and disconnecting needlessly in the relative secure environment of a home studio would do more harm than a little dust.

75% of the time I put it in the case after my last recording. The other 25% of the time I leave it but cover it, cuz I just don't feel like moving it.

Frankly, if you're happy with the sound, don't screw with it. It's too easy for folks to spend oodles of $ on stuff they didn't really need.
