provided you can get registered there (the admin seems to get overwhelmed at times), I'll second the board as a great resource, but it's definitely not for the meek.

Klaus is quite insistent on being very upfront. It maintains the integrity of the board (he openly states that) and they want to know who everyone is so they can respond accordingly. They will give it to you no-holds-barred on any given topic to set the records straight. That can be intimidating for some but, when I got on there, I was ready for the artillery fire and wanted it to make sure I was on the right track. They are a great bunch and you can learn a lot. Just searching through the threads will yield a wealth of info on any question you might have on tubes and mics. And of course you could end up having a mic modified or created if you have the money and want him to do the work.

There's another guy in Marin County that's modded tubes and circuitry, can't remember his name but is quite famous for his work on top singers recording mics espcially Neumanns. I almost got one of his 67s on eBay but was outbid at the end. I didn't have my snipe bid level high as some.

Eddie, that wasn't a shot at the board or Klaus.

It was a real PITA to get my user-id registered there for some reason.

/still waiting... but provide some of the forum mods with assistance every now and again.

No offense taken or problem at all, I was actually adding on to what you said. It took me a while before I was able to get on. Smile
