Hey, First and foremost, I am no audio engineer, but so many of you are so "well equipped" and knowledgeable, I am truly in awe sometimes when I drop in to view the GEAR category. I am still learning after all this time in the biz! So, I'll explain what I am looking to learn:
I am running ProTools LE 7.0 with an MBOX. I didn't purchase any additional plugins, except for the mp3 converter option, and I do not use any other audio processor or preamp except what's coming through my Behringer Xenyx 1204 (sorry Yoda- hope to get me a Mackie soon)--- but am hoping somebody here might be able to share some screen shots of simple settings in the 4-Band or 7 Band Equalizer and the Compressor that sweeten audio output for the female voice. Thanks in advance for any assistance. _________________ Bobbin Beam

I'm not a techie but it would be an interesting exercise if you were to post a 20-30 sec WAV and people with good ears could process it, tell you what they've done and then when you hear one you like you'll have your own "preset".
My audio leaves the building with no added salt, sugar or e numbers. |

I think our leader posted something about this a couple of months ago.
With screenshots, I will have a look at the studio computer and see if I can find it.
Oops sorry, they were pop filter settings......still, they were very useful. _________________ www.davidmonteath.com

I appreciate someone answering my post. Many thanks, David & Philip. Most of my vo recordings are completely raw , but there are some occasions I am requested to produce, adding sfx, music and other voices, in addition to mine.
I have some friends who are audio guys. I'll check in with them too. _________________ Bobbin Beam

ACK!
Thou has used the tool of the devil...
but if it's working for you, who cares?
As for settings with compression, etc. I can't really help you too much. It's been forever and a day since I've used PT's built in SW tools. Outboard gear is what I'm most comfortable with when doing processing, but like most others, I usually send it clean unless otherwise asked (though I do often process it regardless and send both to determine which the client prefers). _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser
