This year for the Charlotte Addy Awards, a good friend of mine that owns a sound design company (in conjunction with an animation graphics company) was asked to put together a series of videos that would play during the award show. He decided to make parody videos mocking the advertising/creative industries- and everyone was fair game.
A group of us got together to do the VO- and had an absolute blast (how often do you get 6 creative minds in a room to just have fun?)
I missed the award show (yes, I'm still bummed) but they put the videos online. There are 6 total- and very funny!

They are all local. Katherine Goforth, Duke Ernsberger, Jason Haussman, Gerar Betrouny....and I'll have to get back to you with the rest of the names. Everyone is really talented- and we were able to record at the same time, so much of this was ad libbed.
Glad you liked it! Jason is the owner of Hot Sake and a genius! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

sam is one of the best impressionists i've ever met. his comic timing is absolutely perfect.
and if that weren't enough...his straight deliveries are just as great as his characters.
if he weren't such a genuinely nice guy i'd hate his guts! _________________ rowell gormon

I've worked with Sam a couple of times- CRAZY talented guy! (meaning very talented...not saying he's crazy)
Of course, so are you Mr. Gormon (meaning talented not...oh never mind)

no worries, ms. kara
i worked in radio starting in high school, stayed with it, learning production, was taught copywriting after college, made a living off dozens of character voices (others might call it "multiple-personality disorder") for 20 years, worked as a puppeteer on a local tv kiddie show and had one of those puppets become a successful sidekick to a top-rated morning show...on RADIO(!)...then shifted to full time freelance work almost 15 years ago, all of that after making the choice to stay in a medium-sized non-union market as a voice talent while starting a family...
...if that doesn't qualify as Crazy, i don't know what does. _________________ rowell gormon

Kara,
Is Katherine Goforth obviously pregnant? I ask because I work with someone of that name (who is very pregnant at the moment) at the Billy Graham Ev. Association and wonder if she's been doing voiceover work and I never knew. _________________ Be well,

Bob, I am so bleary-eyed, I glanced at your post and thought you were saying that anyone named Goforth must have gone out and multiplied.

Mary,
Thank you for making my morning! (Pretty bleary-eyed myself after finishing two projects in the wee hours and how back in the cube farm.) _________________ Be well,

OK, THAT was funny Mary!
This Katherine works at The Ground Crew. She does all the casting, scheduling, keeping everyone in line. An absolute delight of a person- she's one of my favorites to get a call from! Alas...she is not with child, so there must be 2 in the world with that name! _________________ Threadjackers local 420

What a coincidence! I'm not with child either!
That was cool Kara. That sounds like it was fun to do. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

It's so rare that we are given scripts only as a 'guideline' and are told to say whatever comes to mind. It really was fun! There was a scene that had to be edited out due to time- but it was QUITE a scene! Best I not describe it- but when you put 3 female VO's in a room all with mics...well, we get pretty dang funny sometimes _________________ Threadjackers local 420
