|
|
I have been inspired by Liz as well as by a couple of other local "meet-ups" (complete with pictures!) - to suggest here (and on at least one other board... I know, I know, for shame):
A Springtime rendezvous for VO folks who are able to get to the city for a coffee , or a lunch, or an afternoon in the Park.
I'm taking the temperature of interest first - and then we'll agree on a date, place and time-
Everyone raves about having actually MET people, either at VOICE 2007, or on other serendipitous occasions...so, here's a great way to ring in the spring for those of us in the NYC vicinity-
All suggestions welcomed-

Count me in!
I just need lead time 'cause I'd need to get Mom-coverage.
Coffee....lunch...cool!
Weekends are tougher for me, but hey whatever work, works!

Sounds good. Normally, I could make it just about anytime, but a slip on the ice Superbowl Sunday caused a tendon injury, knee surgery, and an immobilizing full leg cast. I won't be mobile until late March or early April. After that, I'm sure I can make it. |

Thanks to this immobility, I do believe I have seen every episode of Law and Order, including Criminal Intent and SVU. The cast comes off next week, then we start getting back on track.
One of the things I've been planning once I get back in motion was a trip to New York City, so this will work out perfect. I'm a fool for the pastrami at the Carnegie Deli. |

SteveA: In November I fell down our stairs and badly sprained my ankle. For a week I lived on the sofa and watched so many back episodes of CSI I could sing you the theme songs.
Makes one appreciate being able to walk, when the healing's done...
get well soon, bud. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420 |

Hello everyone-
I spent some time speaking with Erik Sheppard this morning and his enthusiasm for the rendezvous generated an actual date, time and place!
So-
Here ya go-
Saturday, April 26th 2008
1:00 PM
Mustang Harry's
352 7th Avenue (between 29th and 30th streets)
Just a couple blocks south of Penn Station.
We'll meet, have lunch, hang out -
Once we've established ourselves, we can always head to the Park for a while if we want - to get away from the "tabled" atmosphere of a restaurant -whatever we want to do!!
Let's RSVP here in this thread, because if we're going to be an unwieldy group, I'll call ahead and be sure they're ready for us-
Looking forward to meeting everyone-
Best-

oooh, I love Mustang Harry's (what is it with all the horse-themed places in that area, Triple Crown, Mustang Harry's, etc.?)
Unfortunately I have an previous engagement, else I'd be traveling from Philly to partake in the festivities.
