They don't say which issue of OS X it is, so it may be a pre "Leopard" orphan from the back of the warehouse. I'd be sure to ask.

If you mean a Tiger orphan, you'd probably be right. But, if it comes with Tiger that is a GOOD thing. There remains many issues with Leopard which have yet to be ironed out, I highly recommend sticking with Tiger until at least 10.5.3 comes out. That is a great deal for under $500, and would be perfect for a dedicated VO studio. I own one, but I use it for my Home Theater. It is very quiet and plenty capable for VO needs. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I've heard that about the latest OS on the mini. Didn't Apple just release an update to Leopard that addresses these issues?
I like the idea and "attitude" of the mini. However, I also like a more traditional case where I can exchange drives easily. Apple/Mac only offers an iMac with everything in the screen these days. The next step is the "pro" that starts at over 2 grand. Is there a Mac with a "traditional" case that's in the $1000 price range? (I have seen add ons from third party manufacturers that give some flexibility. |
