i've got SEND (me) in one channel (LINE in) and receive (person at other end) in another (STEREO aux return). recording into adobe audition is fine; it's the levels phone-to-phone that are slightly problematic.
how might i increase my volume so the person on the other end can hear me better? and also, decrease the volume on the other end (which, actually, is slightly hot recording)? i've added gain and boosted the send pot to no avail, and bringing down the receive pot does little for recording levels into aa.
thanks. _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

as you know - i was having the same problem ... i found some carefully hidden dip switches on my gentner that allowed for various gain increases & decreases - with the correct combination i finally managed to fix it. ALSO - you are going to want the "aux" pot on whatever channel the hybrid is coming in on turned all the way down to avoid feedback. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Diane:
Assuming you are using a mixer similar to a Mackie 1202 for your purposes, the correct way to use the hybrid is to use the Aux Send from your Mic channel to feed the Input of the hybrid, and the output of the hybrid should feed a channel input on your console. If you want the other end to hear more from you, crank up the Aux Send knob on the Mic channel. If you want to hear more of the caller, turn up the fader on the channel the hybrid feeds into. If your recording of the phone caller's levels are too low, turn up the Main mix knob and turn down your headphones to compensate. Hope this helps, but next time tell us what mixer you are using. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
