I haven't done a stroke of work all day.
Walked the dog.
Had breakfast.
Transferred VHS to DVD
Put DVD on PC
Long walk in the woods with Jazz
Late lunch
Someone asked for a up to date photo of Jazz so snapped a pic
Nothing else

Your N.E. United States clients are buried under snow drifts and couldn't get to work today. Things will pick up again tomorrow, but best to call the utilities and ask for a little more time to pay your bills. |

Liz,
I'd be happy to have a few truckloads of this ...uh... stuff.... shipped over to you from our delightful rural location!
MY client didn't cancel our 2 pm. meeting, so I'm headed out in a bit to do a little shoveling...

Don't worry Philip. I'll bet if you check V123 tomorrow, you just might find a gig to make life worth living again.

OK, well I had a job today, quite a nice one, actually a very nice one for good money, with a client for the past 12 years, a great guy who is fun to work with. I left home, safe in the knowledge that I could park at the studio, a rarity in London!!! I got on the train, had a very good cup of coffee, watched a TV programme I recorded last night, after about an hour on train, underground and a bus, I got to the studio, and then it hit me, I was so much on automatic pilot that not only was I at the wrong studio, but I was in entirely the wrong part of London.
While in the taxi across 4 miles of the city, I was called by the client who was worried that I hadn't shown up at the session, because usually I am early early early.
Still, he did laugh when I explained that I went to his usual studio rather than the one he booked me for.
I am trying to find a moral in this story, I know that there is one, but tell me if you find it.
Frankly I blame advancing age. It was still a good session though. _________________ www.davidmonteath.com

David, 'splain me why parking at the studio was a consideration, when you actually took the train?
It sounds like it was a good thing you weren't driving. It also sounds like a very pleasant commute. I love train rides. We don't have nearly enough railroad left in the U.S. |

Oh, to have so much work that I can't sort out which studio to go to!
(Actually, I've done it a time or two myself, but it takes a good deal of ignorance to do it here in Miami. There are so few studios left that it's increasingly difficult to mix them up.) _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

Quite, I had it clear in my head before I left that I would drive, just when I left I went to the station. Literally it was just that I have gone to that studio so many times that I dropped into my usual routine.
Doug, it was a pretty quiet day, the other jobs were all from my studio.....and I found that no problem. _________________ www.davidmonteath.com

Yeah, when that becomes a problem, we'll need to start thinking about getting you some help. Glad you're still able to manage. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)
