This was a couple of days ago...but it got me good!

"Did you know that Raising Cane's hand dips their chicken fingers in a better batter?"

It was the whole 'Raising Cane's' into 'hand dips' that killed me. I wanted to say hands dips.

Today's gotcha for me is:

"Our Iapetus view is blocked by... "

Iapetus is pronounced "eye-AA-pet-us" (with AA pronounced as in "yack")

Anyway, it kept coming out as "ARE EYE-PET-US"...

VIN #

cannot say because ... it's redundant.
arrrrgh.
that's SO obvious! (isn't it?)

but ask a bank teller why he says PIN # and he'll give you a blank stare.

Don't follow you, Bob!

I just mentioned that as a pet redundancy.

Deirdre,

I get the redundancy. I just meant that something that's stolen is sometimes described as "hot" so the term "hot water heater" would only correctly apply to a water heater that was "hot," or stolen.

Here's a good one:

Hey, can you pull the steaks out of the freezer so they can unthaw?

Me: They are already unthawed......would you like them to freeze up even more? I can thaw them out by placing them on the hot water heater...and then maybe put some toast in the toaster for you.

Oh one more. I always used to say rear defrogger, instead of rear defroster or defogger. Good stuff!

LOL!!
