I'm split on this one. This week, I've been busy addressing and signing by hand (for that personal touch, you know) Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festival of the Spleen/Holiday cards. They are all done and waiting for the stamps which I'll do today (along with 3 "helpers" since there's no school).
I would like them to not get lost in the crush of cards that will surely come later, but is this still too early?
Any thoughts?

no, i don't think so imHo.

especially given the festical of the spleen is in direct correlation to thanksgiving day pick-up football with your (now old and prone-to-injury) pals, pal.

What, no Festivus cards? And, what about the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

In answer to your question, we usually send them out right after Thanksgiving to clients, etc. We send the personal family ones out later.

Wait till after Turkey Day. Some people get really offended by 'da Holidays coming before Thanksgiving.

I think you're right about that, Jeff. I've had several people in my circle talking about just that very thing this year. Even my kids noticed that Christmas stuff was up in the stores the day after Halloween, completely overshadowing Thanksgiving.
I think I will wait and cram them in the box at the post office Thursday on the way over for turkey dinner, so they'll go out right after.
Guess I'm just a little antsy as it's been a slow week or two.

Well... once more I'm the odd man out.

I don't do any holiday cards with one exception. Why? Because there are too flippin' many of of them to keep track of, as well as, trying to keep track of who celebrates/venerates what. So.... I beat the rush and send a Thanksgiving card / gift to clients each year and beat the rush entirely. I think this is better received/noticed as it arrives before everyone else sends them something and I really am thankful for their business. I base this on the fact I actually get calls and emails from clients telling me how thoughtful I am Embarrassed

Works for me.

"Holiday" cards really should wait until after (American) Thanksgiving.

I don't employ cards at Christmas time, I send out Hello Kitty Valentines.

I don't get the Festivus card, Todd. Perhaps it's because i don't watch Seinfeld?

According to my copy of Microsoft Outlook, Christmas this year goes from "The Day That Back-to-School Products are Removed from Target through December 25th" so I would imagine sending them any time in there is fine...

Lou is right and how COMPLETELY ANNOYING IT IS.

Not his rightness— the nauseatingly elongeated "season".

I appreciate that, but my rightness has also been accused of being completely annoying in the past.

It's a gift....and a curse.
