There was a post at Voices.com :

Quote:
Everybody involved in this project is going to be paid a percentage of advertising revenues, DVD sales, merchandise sales, etc., so please audition only if you are willing to work for a percentage. Talent chosen will be working on 13 episodes on average.

The reply from Voices.com when I complained?

Quote:
As it states in the job description, talent will recieve a percentage of revenue - so it is not actually a "no pay" job.

This is a bunch of bunk. Voices.com specifically uses their $100 minimum in their literature advertsing how they are "better" than V123. Now, they are taking "gigs" that should only be on Craigslist.

It was advertised first on Voice 123 as LTK91024222934X I guess:
This is a new online animated series for mature audiences.
It is created by Voice123 member Thomas Ward, written by John R. Patrick, and animated by Jonathan Taylor.

The show centers around the lives of the employees at Papercut Comics, both inside and out of the office.
It focuses on relationships, pop/geek culture, runaway cleaning equipment, feminism, mass capitalism, and more.

No budget has been set yet, as all voice actors/writers/animators will be paid on a percentage basis.
All involved will be paid a percentage of advertising revenue, merchandise sales, DVD sales, and public
appearances (if any).

Voice 123 Auditions/Proposals Received: 99

Average rating given for all auditions/proposals for this project:
5.0 stars

yeah, but V123 allows people to have a budget of $0 for their gigs. Voices.com celebrates and bullet-points their requirement that all gigs must be at least $100. I think this is sets a really bad precedence (and renders their advertising claims as false).

The major qualm about the percentage is that if they lose $12,400 on the project, you may actually Voice and Owe One Grand.

I fear, however, that we're only freezing at the tip of the iceberg.

Witness Guru. And Craigslist. And site budgets of late.

Personally, I've doubled my seasonal gift baskets to my new 2007 clients.
Groveling can't hurt
