Land Rover have 60 years experience and have spent literally 100s of millions of dollars perfecting the design of a vehicle that will safely negotiate roads full of potholes. We own such a vehicle, the country lane alongside the River Spey is such a road.

In her wisdom Mrs Banks drove down the lane trying to avoid the potholes, in so doing she hit a tree.

Land Rover have spent nothing in over 60 years in protecting their range of vehicles from trees - In the event of such design faults we have insurance.
Anne is fine although is wisely steering clear of me, pity the same couldn't be said of the tree.

The new Chrysler has an avoidance sensor that you can set for potholes, trees, children, street-peddlers, newspaper stands, Taco-Bells, and Baskin-Robbins, (I got the low-calorie version). However, it's on the back of the vehicle.
Glad she's OK to testify against the tree. Oh that's right you are not in America--we sue everything and everybody.

Glad she's OK, Philip. Give her our best when she's done avoiding you.

sounds like Land Rover didn't spend enough time designing their vehicle to properly negotiate being driven by Ms. Banks.

/what? like nobody else was thinking that...

Phillip,

Perhaps if she is doing a good job of steering clear of you, then a few pictures of you on all the trees could prevent future occurances.

Glad she is OK.

I sympathize. My previous wife in a previous life took my brand new Chevy Blazer, back when they were big like a Land Rover, and went slipping and sliding on a ski trip with girl friends and wrapped one side of it around a sign post. They were fine. I was not.

Sigh.

Mr. Banks, I am gratified to hear that everyone is ok. You certainly have a way of turning the tragic, into the comedic. Thanks!

Your wifes little "incident" reminds me of an unwritten law that seems to come along for new vehicle owners... most of the folks I know in that category usually manage to ding it up, to varying degrees, withing the first 90 days of ownership. Glad to hear she wasn't injured!

it's because you people drive on the wrong side of the road!!!

obviously they were colonial trees that sprouted there many years ago thinking they were perfectly safe from errant british-made SUVs.

so glad the bride is unhurt!

Trees are vicious, car-seeking organisms. Immobile yet unavoidable!

Grateful for the continued good health of your better half...

Philip,

I'm very glad to know that Anne is OK. And thank you for the ironic twist to your presentation. You often make me laugh and think at the same time. It's one of the things I most appreciate about you.

Hell, in America, lawyers would be suing you on behalf of the tree.

Glad your darling Mrs. is OK.

I'm glad she's ok!

I don't know what it is with some of us ladies and cars. Last year my husband was having work done on his Jeep. He reminded me as I went to back out of the garage to watch out for the rental that was parked in the driveway. I still hit it. Then there were 3 cars getting repaired...

I drive as little as possible now.
