Intuit is now offering their simple start Quickbooks 2008 version with no expiration and no limits on contacts or vendors. This is a big step up from the 2007 edition which limited you to 20 contacts and vendors.
So those needing some accounting software, you can grab it at http://quickbooks.com _________________ Jeff

I've used QuickBooks for years (the full Pro Version) and have always been happy with it.

Now all we need is good personal accounting software for Mac. Quicken is much disliked among users and accountants. Any recommendations?
QuickBooks by the way works well on both platforms. It's just the personal version that stinks.

I downloaded this today and made my first invoice with it. Not sure how useful it's going to be. You have to categorize every item and give it a price. My first invoice was for a Boston customer's radio commercials. As soon as I select my new category of Radio Commercial, which I had given a price of $200, it automatically fills in the price of $200 which is cool, for that invoice. But if I then try to bill a radio commercial to one of my customers in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and it fills in the price at $200, I bet I'll be able to hear them yell "YAH SURE" all the way out here in western Mass.
Maybe I'm missing something. Or maybe I have to have separate Item descriptors for every micro region.
Or, maybe I have to charge everybody the same and drop anybody who won't toe my line. That would be grand. But it ain't gonna happen overnight. I like my customers in Escanaba and Marquette. Can't help it. |

You are right on target Mary, you missed the fact that you can change the price at any time in Quickbooks and it applies to only that invoice. Just highlight the price and type in the new rate.

That's cool! Thanks for clearing that up.
I enjoy thinking about the larger issues though. But I guess I won't be able to justify my higher prices by blaming it on Quickbooks |
