For awhile Jeff, it was like the boardgame "Mystery Date". You didn't know what was behind the "Paddyo" door!!!!

(but it was part of the question!!)

Hey Patrick!

Your name is pretty easy, so starting with a search as to whether your name is available as a domain would be the first step.
Have you checked that yet? You can go to http://www.GoDaddy.com to do some Domain searches.

If PatrickOconnor.com isn't, try to brainstrom a bit with variations.

I ended up with "HireLiz.com" because my name is such a pain that I needed something easy!

I would stay away from using "Irish" in the webaddress or people will think that you are from Ireland & you'll be precluding yourself from U.S. VO gigs which I think is what you want to go for.

Personally I would just use "VO" as opposed to "voiceover" just 'cause it's shorter to type.

In term,s of your website, the simpler the better.
In YOUR case because you DO do on-camera, I think a headshot would be fine.
If you want your website to concentrate on VO though, maybe put it on an inside page as opposed to the index page...but if you have female agents.... Wink

If you want some ideas, Chris Wagner in this board does websites for people who do VO and On-camera
Go to: http://chriswagneronline.com/ and then click on the "WBCDesign" link on the bottom right corner of the page.

Checking out the sites of others on this board will give you an idea of what you like & don't like, as well as what suits YOUR style.

Hope this helps as a starting point!

(You're buying the coffee!) Wink

Liz

Moses. Another guy with great hair until he was 700-some years old!

I'm so depressed.

You can use a theme as long as it's not too "cute".

I just did a site for a Scottish gal. I had a whole motif created but then I took a good look at the shawl she was wearing in the picture she wanted online and I changed everything.

Not online under her own flag yet-- I'm having server trouble in the UK.

Too Late! Wink ...sorry....

Seriously, as trite as this sounds, you'll know "it", in terms of the look you want, when you see it.
You may even want to talk to the person that does the RadioTheatre site for some ideas....some of those "posters" are WAY cool!

Just remember, it's not brain surgery. It can always be changed....in fact a lot of sites are always a work in progress.....HAVE FUN!
