Just a note to let y'all know I have been paid in full for the work I did in 2006.
If the check stays clear, we're even.
What a roller coaster. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Congrats. Me too. Just recieved a $400. check for a performance done at U. Mass Boston in May 2006. It took about five letters. Turns out the guy who was supposed to pay invoices got LET GO and lo and behold they discovered that his desk drawers were stuffed with unpaid invoices.
I'm part Sicilian, so this guy is lucky I didn't tell my Uncle Tony about him.

I just got a re-use fee from them out of the blue and it appears to be from a spot I did two years ago, so it's probably a year late. That's one of the joys of trusting an agent. You don't know if they're working hard at getting you re-use fees when the original usage time is up, and what they do with those payments you didn't know about when they get them.
Gives me the shivers if I think about it too much, so I don't.

As far as I know it's still Donna and Michele at the helm, with some new funding and a straighter attitude.
Good for them, I say!

There is a valuable lesson for all of us in the above. Sometimes, it is nothing more than incompetence or perhaps a case of lost or misplaced documents.
Years ago, after getting out of radio, I took a job working as National Sales Mgr for a small electronics company. We lost a very good accounts payable/accounts receivable clerk. The replacement simply misfiled or otherwise misplaced some documents and someone did not get paid on time and didn't bother to contact us and bring it to our attention right away. They ultimately got paid, but it would have been much sooner if they had not waited so long to call me. I couldn't fix the problem until I became aware of it. |
