I THINK I'm getting some hiss in my recordings, but only when I speak. I have not run this through any noise reduction, only some mild compression (compander in AA2).

please tell me it's just my speakers....

OK, now that's done

Sorry, but there's definitely a hiss on the voice. Sounds to me like it might be a clocking issue. I don't know AA at all, but are you synced internally or to an external source?

uh, I don't know what that means.

I re-recorded the whole stinking thing (2000 words) and I think it sounds good. Is this file cleaner?

I don't know. I created a new file in Audition and re-recorded. However, I noticed that a few auditions I recorded afterward had the same hiss. never had this problem in Audacity.

Argh, I hate it when stuff doesn't work.
