|
|
Greetings vo friends, any suggestion on a ballpark quote on the following
much appreciated;
Medium-mkt (DMA 125+) inland-Calif. client TV station for whom I do much in-house production VO has a spot to run "San Fernando Valley/Cable Only."
non-union/buyout .
This is a good affiliate client, and our usual per-spot rate is in the realm of med. mkt local cable for mostly short run stuff on a volume basis.
Thanks for your thoughts,

Deidre, :30 buyout with a shelf-life of probably 1 or 2x13-wk cycles at most.
"Normal" rate for this particular affiliate per-spot -for its local market area average $50 for :30s and again these are single-station usage/in-house prod. for a 125+ DMA -- typically 4-5 a month. (Small budget accts).
The spot in question as mentioned will run elsewhere -
(local cable - San Fernando Valley is the best description I can obtain). _________________ Mikey ... Vox-Versatiliti

And I thought Utah was CHEAP? Standard rate cable courtesy AFTRA (simplified):
RADIO*
Expires October 29th, 2008
SESSION FEE $249.50
This SESSION FEE is paid for each spot you record. A like amount is paid each 13-WEEK renewal Cycle while in USE.
LA or Chicago Alone 13 - Week “WILD SPOT” USE RATE $338.80
A “WILD SPOT” is for UNLIMITED use in as many cities, on as many stations for any number of airings. When your “WILD SPOT” airs you are paid the USE RATE based on the number and size of those cities.
NOTE: Producers are given, in most cases, one credit for the previously paid SESSION FEE. That SESSION FEE amount is only deducted from the FIRST 13-WEEK USE RATE payment.
ADDITIONAL “TAG” RATE (AT BEGINNING, MIDDLE, OR END) $103.25
“DEMOS - COPY TESTS FOR NON-AIR“ FEE $171.95
4 - WEEK “NATIONAL NETWORK” USE RATE $684.90
13 - WEEK “NATIONAL NETWORK” USE RATE $1,353.85
13 - WEEK “REGIONAL NETWORK” USE RATE $817.00
CABLE TV*
Expires October 29th, 2008
13 - WEEK “COMMERCIAL” RATE $426.40
Minimum RATE for UNLIMITED airings in a 13-WEEK Cycle. A like amount is paid each 13-WEEK renewal Cycle while in USE or on HOLD (Holding Fee), EXCEPT MADE FOR CABLE ONLY where there is NO Holding Fee. A higher RATE could be paid based on a combined total of Cable Subscriber units. The maximum amount of units is approximately 2000 = $1833.50 per 13-WEEK Cycle.
For more information: Download SAG Broadcast Contract or Download AFTRA TV Report Form.
* Producer contributes up to 14.30% above salary to Actors Pension, Health & Retirement

Jeff, yes, though again, that budget rate is for a very small market single-station in-house VOs --the majority being short-run one-offs that would otherwise be voiced by the production staff. The context is similar to that of a retainer voice for "x" number of spots per month (usually up to a dozen).
Question though is regarding the spot for LA suburban area cable.
Thanks
