$100 per hour is a bargain around here. The local studios charge $250 - 300 per hour for ISDN. |

With Source Connect you are in effect showing up with a Ford Escort on a trailer ready to hook to someone with a Ferrari |

For the past few months, when I'm booked for an ISDN session, I'll usually ask the caller if they've ever heard of Source-Connect. If they have I'll ask if they'd like to use it for our upcoming session. If they haven't I'll give the 30 second elevator speech about the benefits of S-C. Sometimes my spiel works and we end up doing the session via S-C, sometimes not.
Just doing my bit to put another nail in the ISDN coffin. It's going to take a lot more nails...

Well with ISDN being 128k with 2 channels, I would think that Source Connect Pro was the Ferrari and ISDN the Escort. |

And, yes there is something better - oops; something else coming along soon... very soon, in just a few weeks in fact... and I have been playing with it and it sounds --- good!

David,
Before I had my ISDN service installed, I didn't accept sessions with fees too low to justify the cost to bridging with Source Connect through Digifon. _________________ Be well,

Rich, et al...
hehehehehehe...
It's so fun! Knowing what is coming and not being able to tell all of you the why's and wherefore's...
Just suffice it to say you won't need the bridge, and you won't need the ISDN codec on the other side, and you won't need to be a rocket scientist to hook it up.
If you can hook up an Instant Messenger with Voice, you can hook up this software...
Set up a three, four, five, or six-way session in seconds... and then, rock and roll.
Such-a-tees...
hehehehehe

David,
The prices very wildly from one part of the country to another, but where I live in North Carolina the installation is ₤150 and the monthly line charges are ₤50. (Based on the current exchange of roughly $2 = ₤1.) _________________ Be well,

So much math, so early in the morning!
David, the cost is why many starting VOs don't get it here...also: although it's available in most urban areas, in many rural areas it's not....which is why we are always on the lookout for an alternative!!!! FRANK!!!!!!
Whick is where Source-Connect and I-Speek come in.
...so you can stop whistling now!

[quote="davidmonteath"]Rich, have a look at the SC website they list 4 companies that will bridge. Digifon, Ednet, Outofhere & Sphere.
And if you have any questions about "outofhear.com", let me know, as I built their studio. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
