I still have my Onkyo direct drive Turntable in the original box sitting in storage. Put it away when we started having kids and they were romping around. Tub of vinyl as well that had been stored at my parents house until Dad died and Mom sold it, now its sitting around waiting for me to transfer to disc. Some day maybe.
I miss the vinyl days, lying on the floor reading the liner notes, these days my eyes are too old to read the liner notes on most CD pakages, and nevermind the liner notes on mp3s'
just not the same experience.
USB lavalamp??? to get that special vibe happenin' |

I don't think those make the migration to CD. |
Neither have all the Disneyland Book-and-record sets I have. When I get another turntable, those get dubbed first. _________________ Greg Littlefield

My one favorite unique LP is my Monty Python album that has 3 sides.
Yes, the back side of the album as 2 sets of grooves. Depending on where you drop the stylus determines which track you get. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

The one LP I just *had* to go digital with was Pac-Man Fever. Call me crazy, but I love it. You know, in that way you love things you shouldn't love. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Matching Tie and Handkerchief! That one side has more wear at the beginning because I kept hitting the wrong groove to hear the other section of it.
Yep, the Python records are getting dubbed, too. _________________ Greg Littlefield

Actually, LaLa.com has 8 of the Dr. Seuss CD's available, two of the Bugs Bunny "You Don't Know Doc" series, a dozen Monty Python records, and hundreds of Disney CD's. No Rocky and Bullwinkle shows though.

Does anybody remember the period of time when there were a slew of picture disks and colored vinyl releases? I have an incredible collection of those from the '70's. Very fun stuff indeed. _________________ Bobbin Beam

My brother has a few of those colored vinyl albums. A couple of them are sort of tie-dyed looking. I forget which artists they are, but they were definitely from the 60s. |

I remember the Bobby Caldwell record What You Won't Do for Love that was red, and shaped kinda like a heart, released for Valentine's Day 1978. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I have Styx-Paradise Theater with the laser etched art on the B-side. Also on the B-side there is no label, so the entire side is black. When you shine a flashlight on it, LOTS 'o colors appear...very cool The art, by the way, is from the album cover. |
