I figured it was worth a shot since I practically grew up with the Warner Brothers and Bullwinkle cartoon and graduated later into fandom of Stan Freberg. I just didn't know how far across the Atlantic all that reached. _________________ Greg Littlefield

Great pic - thanks for sharing. Bob Bergen told a great story about the first time he met June (in his one man show "Not just another pretty voice"). She was on her hands and knees looking for a gold bracelet with (if I'm not mistaken) diamonds that spelled out a curse word on it ( a gift from her husband). I've always loved Rocky J. Squirrel and Natasha.....but after hearing that story, I love them even more. June Foray is the coolest! _________________ Moe Egan

For the rest of the uninitiated out there in the "great beyond" who is unfamiliar with June Foray by name, here is an interesting profile about arguably the best known female VO artist to ever work in the medium of recorded sound.

The article left out one of my favorite credits of hers -- the voice of "Talky Tina" in the Twilight Zone episide featuring Telly Savalas. She also appeared in the very last episode of the Twilight Zone series finale, overdubbing the voice of child actress Mary Badham ("Scout" from To Kill A Mockingbird) in certain scenes because of traffic noise outside the studio during of some of the scenes shot outdoors. |

"Hokey Smokes", Rocky and Bullwinkle must not have made it to the UK. Of course the metal munching moon mice may have taken down the transmission tower in Frostbite Falls. Air shipping may also have been a problem with "Wrongway" Peter Peachfuzz as the pilot. But of course they could have used Upsidasium to float a large mountain across the ocean.
Maybe Banksey has heard of the great races held at Upson Downs or the superior education given at Wasamata U. _________________ Ron Phillips

Appreciate the link and the extra information Jeff. People in the UK like June Foray describe themselves as "Jobbing actors". No delusions of grandeur, no entourage, no "my magnificent career" plan. The attitude is one of "another day, another dollar" and that line is always delivered with a smile.
Let's raise a glass to the Jobbing Voice actors all around the world. |

But Diane, isn't Utah beer like making love in a canoe? Feel free to P.M. me for the punchline if you don't know the joke. |

PSA: if your beer is warm, which makes utah brew extra good, fill a plastic container with ice, add a bunch of water, sink your cans of PBR in there, put the whole schmear in the freezer for 10 minutes and...."cold beer here!"*

I used to be known in the ChatSeattle chat room as the conversation killer, so it's no surprise that I've done it here as well. |
