When they said the entire town was destroyed I thought it was hyperbole. Then I saw these photos. Turns out it was understatement.
I'm so glad I don't live in Tornado Alley. Or next to a river. Or on a fault line. 116º in the summer doesn't seem so bad when I think of other places I could live.

The loss of life is tragic, but imagine if there was no warning system what the cost would have been in human life? It humbles you to see how quickly the things man creates can be destroyed by nature. _________________ Try to imagine a world where there is no such thing as hypothetical situations.

Wow... It looks like Katrina North.
I wonder how long it will take FEMA this time.

Terrible reminder of my years growing up in Oklahoma... I recall several towns being "erased" by twisters. _________________ . If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you. |

reminds me of when Hugo hit Florida...
hard to believe the power of nature. Even harder to believe that only 12 people lost their lives (which still makes it a tragedy, but when looking at this kind of destruction you can't help but think it would have been higher). _________________ Voiceovers by Gregory Houser

Dave, where did you grow up? I am from El Reno and my wife is from Enid. I used to chase tornados for KWTV. I was their ENG Engineer and saw plenty of destruction.
My heart goes out to the residents of Greensburg. Reports here in DFW said many of the residents had no insurance. _________________ Ron Phillips
