Banksey, I already had my eye on it. Thanks.
If the past few auctions are any indication it will shoot up in price in the last few minutes and I'll probably go with the Audio TX setup. We'll see. As far as I can work out it just doesn't make sense to pay more than what Audio TX costs new for a used codec.

For what it is worth (I'm sure you guys probably already know), but while at the NAB event recently, I talked at length with folks about the ISDN/IP future as I don't want to purchase gear that is on the decline. The guys told me that they are under the notion that IP is the future and that ISDN will become less supported by phone companies etc. before too long.
Thus, if buying a unit today, I would not consider one without it being IP ready and not just an ISDN unit. It isn't that studios are going to yank them out...rather the support for the product, managment of the lines etc., will become much weaker as IP takes over.
Just some thoughts. (certainly not intended to offend or appear to sound "wiser than all", but just passing along what I was told)

Ditto. IP or not, if the work asks for it, you spring for it. I wasn't gonna buy a car that runs on gasoline, because I heard the "future" is electric... but I gotta get to the studio and make money

I have to agree with Anthony. If a real time audio delivery product is what you need right now, buy it and work with it. IP Codecs such as Source Connect, the IP side of Audio TX, iSpeek WILL be in the runing in the near future; that said, ISDN is the most viable resource (if you can get it) today.
The future isn't here - yet.
iSpeek is just awaiting an influx of funds so I may finish some details. At present, iSpeek is a "stand-alone" peice of software with it's own recording section. Users are able to choose the quality level (16 bit, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz {let's say} or any parameter you would require) of the audio delivered, and the compressed bit rate at which they send and receive the audio. A file would be created inside an iSpeek folder, which you or client would then place in ANY DAW for editing.
At present iSpeek will be PC only. I am working on the MAC version which will be a free upgrade.
Anyone have a spare $15 Grand laying around? LOL
