Here's the back yard at Camp Cooper today:

Compare this with the verdant scene last July, getting ready for Bo Fest:

It's usually a little stream.
It's right between high grass behind the bandstand and the stand of trees in the green picture. Nice little trickle. Usually.

Highest winds we've had in a while here! I came home from an early session to find our patio table in the yard (amongst many other 'misplaced' items! Crazy weather all around!

Wow!

Is there any chance of permanent damage to any of your structures?

As someone that fell into a "wash" out in Arizona one night at 2:00 AM, don't try swimming in there!
Especially if you have had a few.

We've already lost 6 feet of land off the rip side of the river.
There are broken trees in the yard from the snowstorm a couple of weeks ago-- We don't have a chainsaw, dammit.

We've had several roads closed around Northern NJ all day. In & out of our little hamlet & several of the major highways around here (17, 208, 23) were flooded in sections & completely closed.
...Getting around was Fun! (NOT!)
...although I did discover some back roads I didn't know about!
...see? ....as in Spamalot "Always look on the bright side of Life!"

Glad you seem to be above the flooding. I heard there were people in Queens riding around in boats!

My neighborhood is quite damp today. We're on a hill (which doesn't prevent the water coming in the basement Frown ) but the river that I can see from my window is quite angry. Pix below. That's our little river - I don't even know what the big one is up to.

Not my house thank goodness

Wow Diedre-
I feel like I live there with all of the weather posts you put up. We had a creek like that in my backyard where I grew up. A little sping most of the time that you could jump across and then a torrent that washes away houses.

One thing though, I am not from Maine, but I am not sure how much fun a BO party would be... Sticking out Tongue Sticking out Tongue Sticking out Tongue

Bo is my son's name, silly. AKA Guitar Boy on my message boards, given name Sterling, mostly known as Bo.
He sets up a stage and has a day-long music festival with 5 or so bands in our back yard in the summer when he can. There have been 2 Bo-Fests. They're rather pastoral for metal.

OK now that sounds (pun intended) like a BO party I would love to attend.

Sounds like Bo knows tunes.

Meanwhile, over in Saco...

I saw this last night on NECN and they interviewed one lady from the area who said there were four streets going out toward the ocean that she remembered as a kid and now the last remaining one was getting ready to be washed away, too. Pretty wild stuff.
