Late to the party but I know that research has shown that almost everyone has Flash installed, and as long as you have alternative ways for people to get your demos such as standard links to them, there's nothing to get too worried about. |

According to Adobe, they have 98.3% saturation. But Murphy's law says that the other 1.7% will visit your site and have gobs of money to give you, but won't do so because they couldn't hear the demo reels.

Get deals from the 98.3% and if you're still not busy or rich enough concentrate on the remaining 1.7%.
100% certainty that a Voice Over is not an impluse buy.
95% chance you're not the right voice. Doesn't matter who you are.
99% probability that site visitors are other voice artists checking you out. |

(I just put little Flash audio players on my site today, because it looks cooler than the hyperlinks leading to a new, empty white page did. I'll figure out a place to stick plain ol' links for the Flash challenged tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm feeling very impressed with myself.)

It's the old saying about "playing to your audience"...I think "our audience" is probably in the 98%+ of people who have Flash installed, as it goes with the territory so to speak.
But yeah, nothing wrong with a little alternative redundancy either _________________ Lou Zucaro

I'm so glad I was able to start up this discussion (sort of). I learned a lot from both sides. That being said, I have to agree that playing to the 98% is your best bet. _________________ Donovan

My basic feeling is that most folks will already have the Flash player installed anyway. In my case, I took the easy way out and changed the "This file requires the latest Flash Player! Get it Now!" link to a direct link to my mp3 file instead. _________________ Greg Littlefield
