Hi, everybody. Sorry I don't visit the board here more often. Like many of us, I am juggling several A&E careers - so I can support my habit of having A&E careers. Keeps me from visiting and reading more often. And sleeping and ... Thought I'd share a couple of funny (I think) VO life experiences from this week with you.
An important job for a new client was approved "as-is". I felt so, off the rack ... so bargain basement ... so thrift shop. Narration approved on the first pass is a good thing. I should just be glad it was accepted, nicks, chips, defects and all.
Another. A new client. Everybody there was shorter than average. The facility was scaled down, too. My feet didn't fit on the stairs. Toes kept hitting. So I had to walk up sort of sideways. When I got upstairs, I had to duck and crouch. Everybody else was fine. I hit my head a couple of times. They got into the habit of saying, "Look out." With the 2-inch heels, I am over 6'. I felt like a giant VO person in Lillipution land. Things we don't think of in advance. Ha!
On another note, if anybody is interested in seeing a play in Anaheim California, I'm in one. Three Fridays 4/13, 20, 27 at 8 PM. I won't do more of a commercial here. If you want more scoop-dee-doo, let me know.
Happy VO-ing and all, all! _________________ Patricia Shanks
