Hi all,
Just a note of introduction and a couple of questions.
I worked in SLC radio between 1976 and 1986 when I left for a different career with some security...sort of.
Anyway, I'm considering trying to get back into things a bit.
My agent sold the store years ago and I've discovered things have changed, somewhat. (Guess I can throw away my splicing block and tape huh?)
So, I bought a mic, an interface, a voice processor, downloaded Audacity, renewed some old contacts etc etc.
I'm wondering what you all suggest for music beds and sound effects.
Good to see some of you are from around this area.
Great Site DB, I'm really enjoying it.

for background music, you'll find the Digitaljuice.com stuff is pretty good and fairly affordable (wait for their email sales).
if you want more flexibility, Smartsound.com also offers some good packages, though a bit more pricey.
Do a search of the chat forum and you'll find more recommendations. _________________ Jeff

I'll toss in Shockwave-sound.com http://www.shockwave-sound.com
Quality tracks for a reasonable price. Get the compilation cd's or buy-by-the-track.
I have to second Digital Juice. Sign up on their website for the email newsletter and you'll get notification of their "Deal of the Day, Weekend, etc." and get a great price on great sounding libraries. |

Use the Search function on this website and search these two sets of terms:
royalty AND free
production AND music
You'll find a number of threads on this topic. The capitalized AND is important because it looks for thread entries that have both words in them.
Also Google "royalty free music" and you'll find many more sources.

Hi Craig, welcome to the board.
Go to DigitalJuice.com and sign up for the email alerts. Sooner or later, they will offer their BackTraxx libraries or a StackTraxx combo at a great price. That's the time to snag it. Some people on the board use other services where you just purchase the 1 or 2 tracks you need for the specific project. That might be a way to go as well. Some time spent perusing the archives will reveal many such treasures.
Good luck! _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |
