Rick....can I say that you referred me to her? I'm typing the email now and don't want to say that if you object.

Tom, I wish more people I've met during this crazy ride would actually take that to heart.

Some days, the knife fights can get a little old... lol!

This is why most of the help goes on with men helping women and women helping men.

These days, though, I'm just as likely to recommend a gal I really respect. It doesn't take away from my possibilities, to paraphrase Banksey's philosophy: I still get all the work that's right for DB Cooper.

Good point. Any men willing to help me get an agent are invited to PM me at their earliest opportunity. Smile

Rich Orlow, who's been a teacher and friend to me in the world of VO makes the comment in every workshop he teaches that refusing to share helpful information with someone limits not just them, but you. In his words, such a thing was the mark of a small mind...

Here in the NY area, there is a place called Actors Connection where many agencies hold "seminars". Essentially, you pay $25 - $35 to have 10 - 15 minutes of face time with an agent. I guess some of the people who go to these things end up with representation otherwise, what's the point, no? I myself am attending a 6-week "Advanced Voice-over Class" with JJ Adler, an agent with Abrams Artists. I am trying not to have expectations but I'm keeping a positive outlook.

JJ's great - tell him I said "hi" But don't expect representation out of him - he'll tell you that from the get. Besides, you really want to focus on what he has to offer - great direction and insight.

PEACE.

Thanks Tony. Yeah, I figure he's not going to represent many of the people he's taught in his class since he's got so many people going through it, but I am looking forward to a great learning experience. Then again . . .
