We just finished my son's science project - we built a solar death ray - and i thought i'd share.
Solar Death Ray has gone operational:
ok - we started small ... Little Debbie Cake. Please remember - it is March in Illinois - about 65 degrees and windy - we didn't start the experiment til 4pm!!!
Heated up to almost 150 degrees in less than 5 minutes. Compete obliteration of snack cake in 9 minutes.
Boo-Ya! Just wait til July!!!

Hot dogs and hamburgers next? Put a "Green" or energy-savings approved sticker and a picture of George Forman on it and sell a million.
I notice it totally destroys all calories in the Little Debbie cake.

THIS is a very cool science project! Congrats, Todd and son.
BTW... in a Mythbusters revisit, it still came up busted, even with the help of the M.I.T. team. Of course the reasons for the myth being busted included compass, weather, scale, moving ships, etc.

Egads what kind of Little Debbie Cake was that?! It looks...um...heinous at best. I thought it was a raw hamburger.
