Ok, I'm going to need a bit of help posting the photo because you guys know I'm a idiot when it comes to achieving that goal. Hopefully someone will sit down with me in Vegas to show me how to do it. Anywho, thanks to this fantastic community, I got to meet TC (alias Tony Craine) this past Saturday and watch him work his magic on the mic at the inestimable Pat Fraley's 56 Slick Tricks workshop. I had a blast, was in WAY over my head, and learned a ton. The great thing was I felt I had a friend there when I walked in the door, even though I'd never met Tony in person. Pat was familiar to me only through this board but I wasn't intimidated at all to meet him because I felt like I knew him already. Thanks again to Deirdre for creating and maintaining this amazing community where I feel at home. Ok, I'm having a bit of a moment here! SERIOUSLY! I was spreading the VO-BB good word to any and all who would listen so we may have a few more members from the frigid midwest. Ok, how do I get the photo up? By the way, I'm on the left, Tony on the right and Pat in the middle.

I agree. There were some exceptionally talented people in that room, and I think Pam and I both felt a little intimidated at the start. It helped to have a friend in there with me, even though we'd never met before. That's the power of the VO-BB. Thanks, Deirdre.

But trust me: Pam was not in way over her head. She did some great work in the studio. Excellent comic timing.

Here's the picture. Three happy voice actors at the end of a very productive day.

Never trust a man who looks like your old school deputy headmaster! Were Mr Fraley and I ever to meet I would assume it was to be caned because I was caught behind the bicycle sheds smoking ...again!

You can't judge a book by its cover.

Pat is one of the nicest guys in VO. He's kindhearted, generous and cares about his students. He loves to watch the lightbulb go off and is patient enough to wait for it.

I hope if you have the opportunity to study with him someday that you will take advantage of it. Pat also has a keen ability to take something that's so visceral and simplify it into cerebral terms that anyone can understand.

As if that's not enough, he's so talented and incredibly humorous. His classes would be amusing if nothing else than for the showcase of his examples or his witty reparte.

There's so much I could say to sing Pat's praises, but being the new kid on the block, I figure I should probably leave it at that.

If TC and Pam were nervous, they hid it. Any teacher that says he or she doesn't have favorites is a liar. VO-BB.Com is like my family, with DB as the twisted Mom. It's a unique band of people who walk to the beat of a different trombone. The humor, and kindness abounds. Yes, Philip I do look like a deputy head schoolmaster, looking all of my 58 years. My wife and I met in '68, and she made me swear to a shotgun death pact if either of us got old and tried to be groovy. We're celebrating our 28th next week in Hawaii. Also, please note the extra pounds I'm packing. I always liked large breasts...now I have them. Congratulations to TC and Pam for doing us proud.

Pat,

And I think we all knows what happens when you beat a trombone. (The less said the better!)

And happy anniversary!

Well then, thanks for the man-mories! Ninja

Congratulations on 28 years, Pat! It's nice to see such marital longevity these days.

Possibly Pat's breasts, 28 times, in Hawaii but I may have to re-read the thread to be sure.

Damn that Evelyn Woods speed reading course!

If this thread goes any farther off the path, I'm shutting it down.
