As always, I'm a day late and dollar short but the sentiment remains the same. Happy Birthday to Bob, one of our most generous contributors!

Well, look what happens when I don't check-in to the VO-BB for a day! Thank you, one and all, for bringing a big smile to my face this morning.

Back when I first joined the board, Dan wrote a post noting the fact that I had called him a nice guy.

My opinion on that subject hasn't changed. And I now know that there are many, many other truly nice people who hang out here too. I'm very grateful to be a part of such a wonderful community of folks. Thank you for all of the wonderful comments. And Maiku, a belated, happy anniversary to you and your wife.

Mary, it's not a problem that you started on the cake. I'm one of those strange people who isn't really all that fond of chocolate. But, thank you for the lovely photo. I like looking at chocolate, just not eating it.

We actually had my favorite cake last night, Angel Food. (With raspberries and real whipped cream.) Mmmm. Mmmm!

And Dan, a belated Happy Birthday to Cara, too. Smile

This is great.

All this love and happiness and we haven't even hit Christmas yet!

What a fine bunch of people. This just brings me one step closer to booking my flight for Frank's march extravanganza

Happy birthday, Bob!! In your honor, I spent 12 hours traveling! It had little to do with DIA being closed. An hour into the flight out of SLC to Kansas City, the plane had to turn around because of a passenger's heart distress. Couldn't land in Denver because that city is closed! Back in SLC, 45 min. on the tarmac, ready to refuel and go again when I learned I actually wasn't hostage to the plane and could rebook. 90 min later I was on a flight from SLC to Kansas City, then a delayed flight to Hartford CT and finally, I found myself in the Nutmeg/ Constitution State. Please don't let me travel around the holidays again!! In order to get through the challenges, my mantra was "happy birthday, Bob....happy birthday, Bob" Laugh Kiss

Diane,

I'm not quite sure how to prevent your future travel around the holidays; especially as I imagine you're going to want to go home in a few days....which would constitute further holiday time travel.

In the meanwhile, I'm delighted to be able to contribute (however small the contribution) to your mental and emotional stability. It was indeed a very nice birthday. Thank you.

I pray your travel travails are over for this year and that your return home be as sooth and trouble-free as possible.

Peter,

I confess I must once again demonstrate my complete lack of pop culture awareness. What is the meaning of "to bogart"?

Deirdre,

Evidently (based on the link Tom posted) it does. And thank you, Tom, for clearing that up for me.

Peter, no, I didn't keep all the cake for myself, thought I was tempted. I do love Angel Food cake! Especially with raspberries and whipped cream.

Only occassionally to I come up with a response that I think will "play out" humorously and it ends up exceeding my expectations.

I'm not laughing "at", I'm laughing "with".

Bob you seem like such a truly good soul, I had a sense you might not know the term but Tom and Bettie's follow up had me rolling! Laugh Gasp Laugh Gasp Laugh Gasp Laugh

I of course hope you had a wonderful birthday and am glad we could all help you with your word of the day.

Note to Bob: you might not, however, want to use the term in conversation during the pending holiday celebrations.

Peter,

I did indeed have a wonderful day with my family, and then the added joy of finding this thread here the following morning.

So noted. Thank you. Smile
