Don't know if any of you knew her, but Kate Fleming (Cedar House Audio), an audio book producer and narrator from Seattle, died yesterday as a result of the flooding in Seattle. Apparently, she went down to her basement to try to rescue some audio equipment and became trapped. She was only 41.

I just got done reading an article about this right before seeing your post. The article did not identify the woman or give her occupation. What a sad story.

I went to the national Audiobooks Convention when it was held in Chicago some 7-8 years ago, and Kate Fleming spoke to a session there. She narrated audiobooks under the name of Anna Fields. Her presentation was very good, especially considering she was a last minute replacement for the featured presenter who had to cancel due to illness.

She was a very busy narrator, plus had started her own company Cedar House Audio. What a terrible loss for her family and the audiobook industry.

OMG. I'm so sorry to hear this tragic news. What a horror.
