I've just completed a wild, exhausting weekend that brought me within hailing distance of several of our VO-BB family, but with no time to actually connect with any of you.

Several weeks ago I'd planned a short business trip to Los Angeles this weekend which would have the dual purpose of giving me a chance to meet a couple of guys I work with from time to time and talk shop while also adding enough miles to my frequent flyer program to make sure I keep my preferred status. I'd even hoped to be able to run down to San Diego while I was free during the day on Saturday to spend a few minutes with Baily, and/or Connie. And while I was there, I have a couple of other friends in San Diego it would have been nice to see too.

Of course, Amy (among others) is in the LA area.

But, then the strange twist. My brother called me last week to let me know that his mother-in-law had died and wondering if I would sing at the funeral. I found a flight from LA to Minnesota and back for only slightly more than a song, bought it and ended up changing planes Las Vegas, on my way to Minneapolis and in Phoenix on my way back to LA. So I missed Dave Courvo and Bruce Miles in those cities respectively.

I got to Minneapolis at 4:00 AM Saturday. Caught 4 hours of sleep. Visited for a bit with the family. Rehearsed. Sang 3 songs. (The Lord's Prayer, Silent Night, and Rock of Ages) Then my Mom drove me back to the airport for the return to LA. I got back to California just in time to meet with one of the two guys I needed to see there, get 4 more hours of sleep and then back to LAX for the flight home to Charlotte.

Hopefully, if our VO get-together happens in March in Las Vegas, I'll get to meet many of you then. But, meanwhile, know that when and if I get to your part of the world, I'll do my best to arrange some kind of meeting, if I possibly can. (For example, Chris, I'm going to be in Norfolk this coming May. I hope to meet you then.)

Wow Bob, are you precipitious or what?

March 27th through the 31st at Palace Station (Off of I-15 and Sahara).

Website will be up next week with registration and more information than you can shake a stick at, including some homework... It might be a great Christmas gift for your favorite VO person.

On tap:
Dave Courvoisier (Courvo) - Master of Ceremonies
James Alburger - The Psychology of VO and The Seven Core Elements
Penny Abshire - The Psychology of VO and The Seven Core Elements
Rodney Saulsberry - Step Up to the Mic

... and, some guy named Frank Frederick “The Voice” - "LoveNotes" - They aren’t just incomparable... they’re magnetizing! What is it that makes your clients love you? Your Lovenotes of course. (Watch for the book in January)

There is more, but I don't want to spoil all the fun...

Can you tell I have been a bit busy?

Toodles

Frank F

Oh Bob! That sounds grueling! I'm so sorry I didn't get to buy you a sandwich. But how lovely that you were able and willing to step in and lend your gifts to the memorial service! I'm sure your voice comforted and inspired.

We'll all see each other in March!

(Good job, Frank!)

Bob... The next time you make a run around the country, let us know ahead of time. Things like dates... flight numbers... carriers. Then maybe we can atleast be in the airport... standing near the security check... waving at you when you run by.

Super! Maybe we can get Charlie Glaize out of his studio and get together over some food. We'll make Charlie pay because he gets way too much work.

By the way, my travel schedule for the next few months includes Kroger and Wal-mart.

Frank,

I think I'd be more in the "or what" category. Laugh And thank you for all the excellent, advance, info on V.O.I.C.E. I look forward to seeing the announcement here next week about the registration web site.
