So I reached out to "Dude". He said he used to be a member here. I asked him to come out to DC and even mentioned Philip was coming. I got back a response about some gig he had coming up in DC THIS weekend.
Not sure if that means he's just busy, or he was blowing me off. He may also be scared that I'm a stalker. I wouldn't blame him. Now that I know what he looks like, I may very well run into him at one of the local markets, restaurants, or home improvement stores. The town really is that small. _________________ http://www.paulstefano.com |

He might have been letting you know he didn't have time to talk because he was dashing off to the Verizon Center, where he was doing the live announce for a three-day conference featuring appearances by most of the remaining presidential candidates, among others.
Or, he could have been blowing you off.
I planned to drop him a note to let him know about it, one the exact time and place are announced. Wish I could make it, myself, but that seems unlikely. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

Thanks Lee. He did mention the Verizon center gig. He also mentioned you!
Not that you know me that well, but please tell him I am not some crazy loon!
I just thought it might be fun to get together with Philip if he was around. _________________ http://www.paulstefano.com |

Appreciate the responses from both Paul and Phil. Am I going to drag two guys miles from home on a Friday night to do a VO meet up with not enough people to form a Barber Shop Singing group? Certainly not. On a positive note, NOT meeting me in person has been reported by many as the high points in their careers. |

For what it's worth, I would jump at the chance to meet you fine folks and hear your stories and pick your brain a bit. D.C. is a touch too out of the way for me, but if you'd be willing to move the meetup a smidge to, say, Alaska, I'd be there with bells on. I'll even treat for dinner. Subway for everyone! Or, if it's black tie, I'd even be willing to spring for Quizno's

Anchorage. The big city. We've got 300,000 people here! That's as "big city" as my brain knows how to handle... _________________ Heather

Did I mention that there is a landing strip in my neighborhood (many of my neighbors have planes) and there's a strong chance that any pilot who visits here will get some air time over one of the most beautiful landscapes on earth...I'm just sayin... _________________ Heather

Oddly enough, landing strips in neighborhoods aren't all that uncommon. Having grown up here, that singularity was only brought to my attention when a friend came up to visit, and as we were driving down the street, a neighbor took off right above us. Her reaction made me realize, "huh, I guess that's not common in the rest of the states is it?"

Just wanted to put this out there one more time. It's actually quite lovely in the region now, and I for one would not need another excuse to make a happy hour. Anybody else want to make this happen on Friday night? _________________ http://www.paulstefano.com |

Well we tried and we can do no more.
I arrive in Washington DC lunchtime tomorrow (Thurs), will explore a bit in the afternoon/evening and on the following day I head out to explore all of the USA. Fly home Monday evening 1830 |
