So,

I kinda mentioned this in another post a few days back, however for those of you interested in visiting the West Coast of Canada in the new year or beyond, I extend a warm invitation for a cup of coffee (or tea) on the beach in Vancouver!

I've recently accepted a new job in Vancouver, BC Canada and will be moving back to my home town after living in Calgary, Alberta (CowTown) for 4-years. I'll be making the move the first week of January 07!

It's kinda bitter sweet, in that I've enjoyed my time in Calgary, however the job offer was too good to turn up, and the local voice over opportunities in Vancouver are quite enticing. Thus... the decision to move West!

Anyway, if you're making your way to Vancouver for some golf, or Whistler for some skiing just know that there is an open offer to get together.

Oh yeah, the job itself... Director of Marketing and Promotions for a Provincial Sport governing body... with the Olymipics in Vancouver and Whistler in 2010, there is a tremendous opportunity to increase the profile of my new employer while at the same time making a whole tonne of contacts in the world of international sports, something that has always been near and dear to me!

Anyway, I look forward to visits as they happen.

Cheers,

Brian

Good luck, Brian, eh? Are you a skier? I think moving from Calgary to Vancouver is not a bad thing if you like two-planking. Any snow yet? Very grim in Utah. Congratulations on the gig; the Olympics should be a blast!

The very best to you Brian. I've not been to Vancouver since 1973, but remember as very lovely. I may actually be in Calgary in about 10 days. If I'm going to be there for sure, I'll shoot you a quick note to let you know.

Congratulations Brian! Sounds exciting. Hopefully the water will be potable again by the time you get there. Smile

Thanks everyone!

Bob, definately send me a note if you're going to be in Calgary... I'd love to get together with you!

Elaine, I was speaking with some family a couple of days ago, and the boil water warning has been lifted in most areas, but I can tell you from past experience, it's definately concerning when you turn on your taps and the usually pristine Vancouver water flows in a dark brown stream from your taps Embarrassed

Dianne, I'm a casual skiier, but honestly I've done more skiing since I've been in Calgary than I did in the last few years that I was in Vancouver. Having hosted the 1988 Winter Olympics, we definately have some world class slopes here in Southern Alberta! As I'm looking out my studio window, the snow is coming down in an almost serene manner, nice small flakes gently covering the ground... now the -10 degrees celcius today and the forecast - 22 on Sunday... yeah, that's a different story! Kinda looking forward to rain and plus 8!

Thanks again all!

Wow, Congratulations on the move! When I am in Victoria I will give you a ring. I love Victoria and it's just a short Ferry ride to Vancouver.

Toodles

Sounds like a fantastic move to me! My wife and I spent two glorious weeks in Victoria a couple years ago. That part of the world is one of our favorites. Hope to get back someday...and now that I know someone there that will make it even better!

Congratulations Brian on the move... and especially on having a job waiting for you. Nothing wrong with those plans at all. My wife and I spent about the first three months of or marriage, just south of there, in Olympia Washington.
Oh... one more thing... buy an umbrella or two.

Congratulations on the new opportunity and the new environs. I've never visited that area but I understand it's beautiful. Good luck!
